St. Petersburg/Gibbs Campus Music Center

St. Petersburg College

This 300 seat Recital Hall was a conversion of Lynch Auditorium; a traditional theater with a fly loft.  The fly loft had been abandoned many years ago.  The loft and stage was demolished to make way for the new lobby and the auditorium redesigned to orient the front towards the parking lot and Eagle Lake.

The reverberation of the new design can be modified by changing the acoustical value of the walls via manually controlled baffle curtains. Musical concerts as well as speech functions can be performed at their optimal acoustical value.   A pipe organ incorporated into the design completes the composition.

The facility is featured with computer controlled multi media teaching technology allowing greater usage flexibility.
