The scope of the project was to create an upscale, museum-like atmosphere. Dramatic lighting for an ever-changing mix of merchandise and movement of floor displays was the design criteria. Creating visual interest, lighting merchandise from small gems to large sculptures, and energy code compliance further challenged the design.

By directing the light precisely where it is needed using high efficacy lamps and performance optics fewer light fixtures were used. This brought the watts/sq. ft. below code requirements. A lighting control panel keeps exterior window displays lit of two hours after closing.

Dark colors provide low reflectance values and increase visual impact of merchandise. Low ambient light levels increase contrast ratios of merchandise without creating glare.
