Bay Point Elementary School

Pinellas County Schools

The project started as additions and renovations to the existing two schools located close together on the same site.  After a study and initial schematic design it was determined that both the schools had to be replaced.  The new Elementary School was built first on a vacant area of land on the same site while the existing schools continued in operation.

When the Elementary School was completed and occupied the existing school buildings were razed to allow the new Middle School to be built on this site while continuing to operate the existing Middle School.  When the new Middle School was completed and occupied the existing Middle School Buildings were razed to allow space for the recreation fields.  These schools share the same chiller plant resulting in an operation savings for both. Designed in association with Holmes, Hepner and Associates Architects in Tampa.
