DESCRIPTION
The Palladium Theater at the St. Petersburg College has been presenting for years the best in cultural programming for and by the community. The Palladium also host numerous community meetings, panel discussionss, and informal events for diverse groups that reflect the stimulating mix of interests throughout the community.
The 1925 structure needed to be retrofitted with a new HVAC system. Typical of its age, the structure had no space to accomidate a new chiller and mechanical equipment that met the current codes. We designed a new structure to house the mechanical system which also allowed the construction of an elevator in compliance with ADA requirements as part of phase 1. An elevated bridge completes the accessible path into the theater.
The architectural style and color of the brick was matched to the existing structure and will be incorporated to the future design of a parking structure within the facility.
Subsequent phases will address acoustical improvements, theatrical lighting, life safety issues and compliance with current accessibility guidelines.
